Time to continue our journey through the fretboard. Today I am going to show you how to play the 4th shape of the G Minor Pentatonic scale, then we are going to add the flat 5th to it to make it the blues scale.

After that it is time to bend, no, I am not talking about the sickness divers get from deep dives that skip compression, I am talking about bending the string to change the pitch. I am going to show how to play shape 4 and how to bend the strings. From where to put your fingers, how much pressure to use and how to change the pitch. Enjoy!

Will improve

  • Playing Shape 4
  • Changing the minor pentatonic to the blues scale
  • How to bend
  • Recognizing pitches with your ears.

Hey, Tyler, I can bend all the way to the edge of the fretboard and still only go up ½ step! I'm playing a tenor, so I figured the strings should be long enough to get there. What am I doing wrong? Got any advice? edit: Wait ... If I'm bending a C (8th fret on the E) and I'm going up ½ step, am I not hitting Db, the Blues Note (6th fret on the G)? So isn't that an ok note in this scale🤔?
