Remember that fingepicking we did back in day 3? Remember how it was just 1/4 notes and I said that we could add some syncopation? Today is the day friends, today is the day. When it we first took a look at fingerpicking we were just playing the 1/4 notes, 1 2 3 4, but 1/8ths, 1/16ths, triplets, there are a lot of things that we can do to give the fingerpicking flavor. Today we are just going to dip our toes into the fingerpicking blues for beginners with some 8th notes and syncopation.

Explore this, make it your own, experiment with 6th notes, hammer ons, pulls offs, feel free to take it to a whole different planet, but make sure you get the foundation down first. So many people have a sloppy foundation and when the build something it just falls apart because they didn't take the time to figure out the basics first.

Will improve

  • Timing with 8th notes
  • Thumb, index and middle finger independence
  • Travis picking style bass

link to .pdf is not working for me.

Barbara Tigler

For me it worked, but the file is named '1' - without any file extension. I renamed it to 'TTBC - Day 10 - Advanced Fingerpicking - Ukulele.pdf' - and now it is totaly fine.

Brucie Cookie

Yes, that was the key. Not the first time a file had to be fixed from random renaming. Thanks for all your assistance, Tyler!
