These polls get a lot of attention, more so than any post, so we are going to use this poll to do two things. I want you to tell me where you are at in your soloing, and I have included a road map to learn how to solo. Awesome.

End game, you want to be able to pick a root, construct a scale from it, major, minor, blues, both pentatonic scales and modes, and then be able to create chords from that scale.

You should then be able to use those chords to create a chord progression and solo over the chords chords with that scale.

Where to start?

Step 1 - A minor pentatonic all 5 shapes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBURg0RYij4

Step 2 - Master the pentatonic

Round 3-5 coming soon

Step 3 - E minor pentatonic all 5 shapes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKAkyqmnbf4

Step 4 - One scale to jam them all, how to transpose these scales, knowing both E and A minor should help - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ehtXuK9dY8

Step 5 - Relative Majors - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DOvU2-TTTA

Jam time - Blues backing track in A (use the a minor pentatonic) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cmfo2uQ1S0

Blues backing in E (E minor pentatonic or E blues scale) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cNzDY0jxPg

Step 6 - Add the flat 5th, the blues scale - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgCIX5aRE3w

Step 7 - Add the 4th and 7th intervals for the full major scale https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASGfFWX1jfo

Step 8 - Sharpen your skills with phrasing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nf23IqQrDds

Step 9 - Solo in the blues with both major and minor scales https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4N7bALlAac

Step 10 - Understand intervals to know all scales https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fab90AjfYzc

Step 11 - Your first mod, mixolydian https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12lVWuwmOkc

Next time I see you, I want to jam!

At least now I know what road to go down

Love the roadmap. It's a struggle to know how I should progress (what's a good sequence) and this is a big help. Next step is to learn how to transpose 'on the fly'. I am hoping to play blues and jazz.
