Day 1 of our #10DayBluesChallenge is here! We are starting off with an absoulte true beginner 12 bar blues in the key of E. We will work through the thing baby step by baby step. First looking at the chords, then the progression, then a downstrum on the first beat, then on every 1/4 note, then adding up strums on the offbeat. This will be the foundation of the entire challenge so get to the point where you can play it blindfolded. The easier this is for you, the more you play, the more you know it, the easier everything in this challenge is going to be for you, so take your time and really practice it!

Here is how to enter and maybe win yourself a brand new Ukulele from Tenthumbs! It works like this all you have to do is tape yourself doing all 10 days and upload them to instagram and tag us @Tenthumbspro. If you complete all 10 days you are entered to win a Ukulele! You have until May 1st to complete all 10 videos.

If you are too shy to do the videos publicly you can send them as a private message to me on Instagram. I prefer if you do them publicly so more people can see the videos, because it encourages more people to participate in the challenge. Giving you something to do over the next 10 days!

Pay my dues... really? Not sure what you're implying. I am a patreon member.

I think he is referring to how you have to work to learn the instrument? I don't think it was intended to be a negative comment. One of the cool things about music is that we are all on the same level and there are no short cuts. When you see somebody who can really play it is because they put the time and effort into it, I think that is really cool. That is what I think he meant about paying dues, referring to doing the work to learn the instrument and I also think the "you" there was meant for all of us, we all have to do the work to get to where we want to go with the instrument.

I'm not that hurt or upset about it. Thanks for the clarity though. I utmost agree that one has to put in the time. After two years of playing, I can clearly see some milestones. I have went from knowing nothing to playing blues or fingerstyle. I'm posting #8 today! Thanks for your positive feedback.
