Today we are going to learn how to play "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac. This one took me a little while to finger out how I wanted to play it on the Ukulele because of the unique tuning the song is played with. On the guitar they dropped the high and low E strings to Ds, making the tuning double Drop D (the only other song I know that plays this tuning is Black Water by the Doobie Brother, now having taught this lesson I think I am more prepared to give that song a go!), a tuning that is kind of tricky to capture the magic on the Ukulele with. They also put a capo on the 2nd fret after this strange tuning, which meant working my way up the neck on the Ukulele as well. After working out the intro riff the rest of the arranging was a lot quicker.
I had so much fun doing the outro as well I thought we would arrange the bass riff as well to really put the cherry on top so you can have fun with all the part of this epic song. The only piece with actual strumming is chorus, but we also will teach you how to strum the verse if it is just too tricky for you to fingerpick through the verse but you really love the song and want to play along.
