Today we are going to learn how to play "Paint It Black" by The Rolling Stones on the Ukulele. We will break down the entire song, from the intro riff to the outro riff and everything in between. The riff is pretty straight forward but the mix of quarter notes and eight notes will have you fingers feeling upside down from time to time. We will walk you through all the pieces though nice and slow so you can see how it comes together. We will even show you what all three guitars are doing on different Ukuleles for the verse so if you want to you can play the verse with three people!

hi! im a little confused on the second measure on the intro RIff and the verse riff, you have written down to play 3rd fret E string then 4th fret C string twice but it appears in the video that you play 3rd fet E-string then 4th fret C-string once, and then play 2nd fret E then $th fret C. Am i seeing things or just totally confusing myself?

Tyler Austenfeld

Hi! Let's see if I can help. Which measure are you referring to exactly, the 3rd? And is the mistake made in both the Intro and Verse riff the same mistake?

Nathanael Horne

nice, at the limit of my abilities for that riff but love the stones and this song.

Tyler Austenfeld

It is good to have some tunes at the limit of your ability because they are they ones that make your ability grow!
