You can never have too many tricks in your blue rhythm bag. This is a walking bass line made popular by Robert Johnson and taken to the next level with players like Stevie Ray Vaughn. The E riff works over two bars of E7 and the A riff over two bars of A7, feel free to sub it out with your 12 bar blues in E to mix up your rhythm, you can also solo over it if jamming with a friend and it'll sound great!

Walking Bass Blues Ukulele Tutorial

New Ukulele tutorials every Wednesday and Saturday I was listening to some Robert Johnson and Stevie Ray Vaughn and noticed a little something that SRV picked up, and took to the next level, from Robert, and that is the walking bass. So we are going to be breaking it down, what it is, how ti use and how it fits into the overall larger context of understanding what blues is. These are two ideas for the I chord and the IV chord in a blues in E. It is a two bar loop that you can use over E7 and another that you can use to sub over an A7 chord. This gives you even more rhythm options for your bag of tricks when it comes to playing blues, and of course you can mix it with licks, play with a friend, solo over top, the list is endless!
