Today we are breaking down "Love Me Tender" in the chord melody style. This is a great song for people looking to be beginners in this style. All of the melody is played on the A string except for the first note in the open G string, so you can avoid the barre chords if you want and just play the melody in those part. Once you get this you will unlock the door to play this fun style of music and motivated to learn more!

Love Me Tender - Elvis Presley - Beginner Chord Melody Ukulele Tutorial

New Ukulele tutorials every Wednesday and Saturday, subscribe and learn! Today we are doing a great beginner Ukulele chord melody song. This isn't a true beginner ukulele lesson, but it is a great beginner lesson for this style. I am going to show you the song using barre chords, but I will also show you alternatives to avoid the barre chords and the melody is all the notes on the A string, so if you can't get the chords you can just play the melody on the A string and it will sound great. Remember this is meant to a beginner lesson into the style of chord melody and you will want to have some experience strumming the ukulele and playing open chords before you jump in. If you want more Elvis Presley on the Ukulele make sure you check out our Elvis playlist! The tutorial will have the tabs on the screen but if you want some that you can print out and follow along, for this song, for all our songs, you can do so by becoming a Patreon so you have something to print out and follow along.

This picture makes me wonder why Elvis only ever wore a beard in Charro? The king rocked a beard! Heck the king rocked pajamas (aka jumpsuits)!

Thanks a lot Tyler! I think this is a great CM tutorial, effectively it's a great one for a first CM lesson. I am happy to report that while i still consider myself only advanced beginner, i was able to play it from the tab on the first read, so it's a pleasant exercise. Eventually i'll be able to play your Space Oddity CM and reach the end without breaking the rhythm :-)
