I have been breaking down some pretty hard songs that I really enjoy, but they are in hard keys, full of licks and all kinds of things I know can turn beginners off. Having said that it is very easy for me to just change the key to an easy key, eliminate the barre chords and licks, and just have strummer versions. Would you prefer two versions of popular songs, both a complete advanced version and an easy beginner version?

To help I have included an example of a complicated song that we have done in two versions.

I appreciate your feedback and remember, the goal is to help you make the music that YOU want to make.

Thank you everyone, a big hug,

With this particular example the easy version doesn’t sound good at all. So the hard version would preferable. I like the picking as I might not end up playing the song completely but there is always something there that I encorporate into a new song. Thanks I really like your teaching style. I need to pay more in 2019 for your work.

Thank you for your support and feedback Harry, good to know! That fingerpicking in the advanced version is really fun to play and sounds great.

Nothing better than a challenge. I say break the songs down and give it all to us. Practice till we bleed and then go back for more. Like you said, it doesn’t have to be for every song. But really it’s super fine to play the iconic riffs and fingerpicking.
