Bizarre is a good word for this episode. Knowing how you’ve discussed in the past about your perfectionism and dealings with anxiety, I had suspected you’d gravitate toward this Kevin kid. Yeah, one’s heart does go out to this kid. I relate, in that I remember the stress of those tests. I love how he’s told one day college won’t matter. Along with you, I nodded my head in agreement with that. I do hope he and his mom are going to be ok. I can’t speak to how much accuracy, a lot or a little, is in your assessment of Castiel. I do agree with the overall idea you brought up in that he’s just trying to avoid any and all negativeity, and is trying to focus on positivity, the little things. I've had times like that myself where I'm down bad enough that I don’t want to think about anything bad. It's like they say in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, “The only thing to do is to say, “Hang the sense of it” and keep yourself busy. I'd much rather be happy than right any day.” Of course, when people then ask am I happy, again it’s like it’s said in Hitchhiker’s Guide, “Ah, no. Haha. Well, that's where it all falls down, of course.” I relate heavily to how you describe the idea of not wanting to be helped; that you’re deserving of the guilt, the pain. I've been there many times. I also loved how you were believing Meg was genuinely on Sam and Dean’s side in this episode, despite how you are often customarily quite the skeptical sort. It’s like you describe yourself as a “Stubborn ass bitch and I keep a grudge.” to which, without a shred of humor or irony, I said, “So am I. You’re in good company there, Jess.” It is as you say, if there’s a shared interest and/or common goal, it does seem like Meg can be counted on. Within reason, that is. Smaller observations. The Sorry scene was the most memorable scene involving the game since The Carol Burnett Show. Also, when they discuss about Metatron, how Sam confuses the name with Megatron, and you said you’ve seen His Dark Materials, I'm quipping, “Right, so I'm the only one here who’s seen and/or remembers the film Dogma. Well, it’s what it is, it’s cool.” Thank you for the enjoyable reaction to this bizarre episode to Supernatural, Jess.
