Ness is played by Nicholas Lea, best known as the slimy double agent Alex Krycek from The X-Files. So casting him as the most famous straight arrow cop in history is a pretty fun joke.

This episode aired in early 2012, when Matt was the Doctor (in between The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe and Asylum of the Daleks). So while 11 could have shown up, he'd probably have been alone.

For as much as SPN does their research, they screwed up the Eliot Ness story. He was never a cop and he never worked for/in the city of Canton. He was the Public Safety Director for the City of Cleveland for 10 years. They did get the alcohol bit correct, as he was fired for a hit &amp; run while he was drinking. His ashes are spread at Lake View Cemetary in Cleveland.</p> <p>My head canon is that Ezra is Bobby's grt-aunt or grandmother.</p> <p>The tag has an abupt ending. There was more that they cut. It used to be on Youtube, but I can't find it now.</p>

I love the episode, but I think they missed an opportunity to put a Doctor Who easter egg in there! ^^ Sam could´ve jokingly called Chronos a "Budget Timelord" or he could´ve said "Let´s hope he doesn´t regenerate!" xD
