Yeah, a big wake-up call for Wednesday in how she’s treating people. You say it’s a case of she truly doesn’t want to care, or in some cases, truly doesn’t think she will care, and I'd say you’re correct on that, Jess. I would add you’re correct as well in the idea of Wednesday doesn’t quite grasp the concept of how people will react to being treated in certain ways. I view her as having the mindset of treating others the way she would ideally like to be treated. Another scene where this was showcased was when Marilyn tried to bond with her over Mary Shelley, and Wednesday is quite cold to her. Sidenote, the line Marilyn has saying that she and Wednesday are a lot alike, I hear that line, and said, “Funny.” It's funny though in that the show wants you to be critical of Wednesday not being openly appreciative of the birthday surprise soirée, and I’m sorry, I hated everything about that. I HATE it when people try to throw surprise parties and/or pull something like what they pulled with Wednesday here. It's no fun. It is NO fun. Similarly, the scene with Tyler offering Wednesday the specially made coffee, I projected some, saying, “I take my coffee black, like my soul, so I would not be swayed by this romantic gesture.” Also, somewhat off-topic, I got befuddled by Enid giving Wednesday the snood, more precisely, I was confused by exactly what a snood was, and I said, “What in God’s holy name is a snood? Is this some sort of fashion statement inspired by the works of Dr. Seuss?” Still, as you say, you do feel terrible for both Enid and Tyler when they figure out what Wednesday was up to. And, yes, Jess, I do know how you feel about buddy systems. Your comments about that in this episode were excellent. Yeah, the Sheriff’s response to what happened does make sense. Talk about your strategy of not actively trying to solve the mystery, I have the same strategy. Albeit, in my case my brain latches onto pieces of information, stores it, makes note of everything, and on occasion, makes educated guesses based on the information presented. For instance, you talk about the idea of Xavier being the monster and not knowing it, that was an idea I had as well. It is amusing how he keeps turning up like a bad penny whenever the monster strikes. I also noticed about the flowers, and combined with Dr. Kinbott’s age being roughly consistent with Laurel’s age, that idea of they were one in the same was I thought plausible if nothing else. And if the idea proved true, as you stated, we do NOT want her around Eugene. You briefly talked Principal Weems being overprotective, which I'd say you’re right. It does feel like her desire to protect the school could conceivably cause more harm than good, though, you do recognize her intentions are most likely good. The standout scene of the episode was when Enid yells at Wednesday for how Wednesday has treated her, and then leaves her alone. I give massive credit to Emma Myers for her brilliant performance in that scene and how it broke my heart. Likewise, Jenna Ortega was inspired in that scene for how well she sells that Wednesday is genuinely affected by Enid’s words. Particularly, how her expression barely changes if at all, yet through her body language, she demonstrates how deeply wounded she is. Oh, I felt that scene. This was another wonderful reaction to Wednesday, Jess. Thank you.

Jenna Ortega is so great at making Goody a separate personality from Wednesday that I actually wondered if it was the same actress or they just found someone else who looked a lot like her.
