This episode is just so gross. And what's worse, is that Sera Gamble is the showrunner during this time - so we have a woman, breaking this as a story for the season that she wants to tell, and having them play it like hoho this is so kooky and hilarious, just taking someone's free will away. Like - yeah. Season 7 is *not* my favorite and this episode is just one on a lonnnng list of reasons why.

Loved your reaction & your thoughts but haaate this episode for exactly the reasons you mentioned. Supernatural often deals with issues of consent & free will and I don't exactly love to see it ever but it's a horror show and I'm fine when it leans into the horror of those issues (like the antichrist mom in season 5). But sometimes the show just wants to play it more for laughs and it sucks.

Misha/Cas fan here and while some of us are more hardcore than others, I think your reaction is understandable. I mean, this is Supernatural and we've seen both Sam and Dean return from the dead, so your expectation of Castiel coming back is warranted. I'm not saying he does or doesn't, so you'll have to keep watching the rest of the show (oh darn). 😜
