I suppose we could always say that the recent occurrence of Hieronymous' hypnotic influence over Sarah left her mind vulnerable to attack. The hand got lucky! One thing about the Universe. Coincidences do happen! Sadly, Rex Robinson's character, Dr Carter - Rex played Dr Tyler in The Three Doctors- - came to a terrifyingly tragic end in this story.

2023-04-05 05:05:13 Thanks for another great reaction. A few interesting facts about these first two parts. First off, when the Doctor and Sarah materialize in a quarry, Sarah remarks that they may not even be on Earth. It's quite an irony given a lot of quarries in England doubled up for the exteriors of Alien planets in classic Who. Second, when the explosion happened, they filmed a little bit too close to it and one of the rocks smashed the camera. That's why it gets shown again from a greater distance. Third, regarding Sarah's long walk through the nuclear power station - it was a real one and I believe, as well as being a bit of filler, it was also drawn out to showcase British ingenuity. The notion that the BBC could just rock up and start filming in a Nuclear power station would be laughable today. They obviously got permission but nowadays it would likely be firmly denied. Health and safety & I suppose security concerns was a very different kettle of fish to what it is now. Lastly, when the Doctor hypnotized Sarah-Jane to get rid of any vestiges of Eldrads possession and she comes to, she says 'Eldrad must live' one more time as they leave the room. The Doctor remarks 'What?!' and Sarah-Jane says 'just testing'. This was completely ad-libbed by Liz Sladen, it wasn't part of the script. The Doctors surprise was genuine as he wasn't expecting it! See you next time!
