I always felt bad for Ben because he didn't ask to be stuck in the middle of this situation. However, it's debatable whether Dean and Lisa were actually in love or whether Dean was just trying to fulfill his promise to Sam to go live the "apple pie" life they never had the chance to live before. Plus, I think Dean could never shake the idea that Ben might have been his, and even if he wasn't, Dean felt some sense of obligation to him. I think that drew Dean to Lisa more than any deep love for her.
