YAAAAAAYYYYY!!! I have looking forward to this reaction since December when I calculated that you'd be up to SJ by the middle of March! LOL. YAY!

Josef Schiltz

Yes, well. The Doctor knew full well that mischievous remark about "making some coffee" would annoy Sarah Jane. He's always been a good judge of character. Listen and you'll hear, when Lis has the tussle with one of Irongron's men, posh Lis very quickly goes full liverpudlian! "Gerroff!" I think the production team - if I'm remembering this correctly - had no idea of Kevin Lindsay's - Lynx - heart condition and all that make up and costume must have been a strain.

I love that Lynx was mentioned in War of the Sontarans in Series 13, really cool that they did that. Also, this original design is so good!

Thanks for a great reaction to the first two parts of this story. It's a first for many things. First story of the Season, first of a new title sequence, first time we see Sarah Jane Smith, first time we get to see a Sontaran and a slightly more subtle first is that it's the first time the Doctor refers to his home planet as Gallifrey. Looking forward to seeing your reaction to the next two! See you next time!

Josef Schiltz

Of course, nobody saw Sarah enter the TARDIS when she was a mere few feet away! One of those "No. Didn't see it. Didn't see that!" moments. Especially since she called out to Professor Rubeish. "Are you in there?" Anyone just a short distance off would have reacted to that. I think that wasn't sorted out properly somehow, as that little bit of Sarah entering the TARDIS for the first time was very awkwardly interjected into the scene as a by-the-way moment.

I've been waiting for this for some long. :)

Ian Smith

I've been waiting for you to react to this for weeks! You did not disappoint :)

As you mentioned, Sarah Jane is more strongly associated with the fourth Doctor, so her pairing with three often gets overlooked. I think this is unfair because Jon Pertwee and Lis Sladen have brilliant chemistry. It's a similar situation to Rose with the ninth and tenth Doctors. You're right to immediately notice Sarah Jane not following the Doctor around like previous companions, especially the one right before her, Jo. Sarah Jane has a wonderfully contentious relationship with the third Doctor, mixed in with a lot of snarky humour and back and forth between the two.

Josef Schiltz

Of course, one of the reasons that Jo hung onto The Doctor - Katy hanging onto Jon - is that she was so near-sighted that she was afraid of getting lost and having to say, "Sorry gang! Can we do that again?" "Must remember at that point to grab onto Jon and hang on for dear life!"

Josef Schiltz

I can understand Jess's "Oh my god!" moment when Lis entered the scene. I felt a mixed wealth of emotions seeing that again after all these years. Tearful, in fact.

Jenny Chalek

It's so cool to see how Sarah Jane Smith originated. The third doctor episodes with her were good.
