I love that the show called itself out and said fans might think it's a "jump the shark" moment to bring in a half brother, but it really does make sense with John's lifestyle Edit: FYI Jump the Shark is a fandom expression of when a show goes off the rails, and in a TOTALLY different direction-and can't come back from it. It started with Happy Days show where the main cool guy literally used his skies to jump sharks

this episode also hit close to home. When I was 10, I found out I had a half sister. But in this case my dad didn't KNOW about her. She was set up for adoption from the bio mom. So in that regards it wasn't kept a secret like John's was. It was also before my dad had met my mom-who had passed on, in my early years. So yeah, I also don't know how I feel about John keeping that from them. Because, at least, as soon as my dad found out he told me, and my sister.

I loved your reaction to finding out Adam is another Winchester brother. I love the actor who portrays him. He's become a fan favorite at conventions, despite his brief stint on the show. I agree with you about Dean. Poor guy, the last thing he needed was to find out that John had another kid and was an actual dad to that kid, taking him to baseball games and such? Like, ouch. Poor Dean needs a hug! (and lots and lots of therapy!)
