I actually think this film is an improvement on the first one. A wider scope, the endless joy of Tim Curry, and a genuinely creepy setting for the climax that adds a ton to the abuse Harry and Marv go through.

I've always liked this film more than the first, largely due to the presence of the always terrific Tim Curry who, like everything else he's in, steals the entire damn show. The man is an absolute treasure. I've always loved Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern as Harry and Marv and have always respected their sheer determination and never giving up even after going through stuff that yes, this film especially, realistically should have killed them at least ten times over. The arc welder hooked up to the sink is always the most ludicrous to me, and I always say to myself "How in pluperfect hell do you just walk that off as if nothing happened??!!!" You're far from the only one concerned about Kevin. There actually is a very popular theory on the internet that he grows up to become Jigsaw. Macaulay Culkin himself has added fuel to the fire and John Hughes freely admitted that he wanted to take the franchise in that direction. All of us who grew up with these films joke about it all the time. You don't have to apologize for your Christmas movie choices. I mean I can and I do watch Die Hard year round and I'm quite fond of the film We're No Angels myself. Also, one of my go to films every year is Stalag 17 which is not the most common choice. We all love what we love and it's always great to share what one's favorite Christmas movies are because sometimes it's a great way to discover some hidden gems that aren't as popular. This was such a fantastic reaction, I can't tell you how much it meant to me and just how much I needed to laugh as uproariously as I did while watching this. Thank you so very very much for this. Ok. That was f-ing hilarious. One. Your reaction to you-know-who? Priceless. Two. Yes. He’s a little psycho and three: only reason they live is because they have kidmovie plot-armor. Thanks a bunch, haven’t seen this movie in years. John williams scoring it, and the harry potter 1/2 director directing it? The music is amazing. It’s like star wars/HP level exciting music for a kid walking around new york.

John Williams is the the best. Home Alone 1 and 2 stand out in that they're not necessarily films that you would expect him to have done, yet he did, and like all his other work, he gives it his all, and there's a real heart and charm to his scores for the Home Alone films that is just so endearing and it gets me very emotional and teary eyed every time I hear it.

I wonder if it's just because it's live action that it makes you feel so taken back by all the violence.. but if it were, say, Bart Simpson vs. Sideshow Bob and his brother, would you still feel the same way? still a great reaction! it's been forever since I seen this movie and I especially liked your reaction to that guy giving directions in the beginning! LoL

That is an argument I've heard a lot over the years with the Home Alone films and other films like it. Maybe I'm just that sick in the head in that I laugh my ass off regardless if it's live action or animated. Although I will say when it's live action, it leaves you more befuddled and flabbergasted as to how anyone could live through what Harry and Marv go through.
