Gotta be Bellatrix! Helena Bonham-Carter (the actress) is phenomenal in that role. I hated Umbridge the most but I was just always in awe of Bellatrix's insanity.

Bellatrix is one of my favourite characters full stop. I love every moment she's on screen! Snape and Voldemort are up there too though.

I have to say Dolores. She's the kind of evil many of us meet in real life. The sort of evil that hides behind pleasantness and smiles.

Bellatrix is one of my favourite characters overall but the way in which Delores thinks she is doing the right thing is probably more dangerous than someone outright being evil.

Snape might be the more interesting villain, but i get such a kick out of how delightfully nasty Imelda Staunton was as Umbridge. Her brand of evil seems to constantly be on the verge of insane hysteria. Bigotry and pettiness almost concealed under a thin veil of pink lace and kitten fur. She is disgusting and hilarious at the same time, and when it comes down to it, utterly ruthless.

Surprised to see Umbridge at the top currently! I have to go for Snape, the latest twist in the HBP was so brilliantly done and you really do keep wondering up until the very last second whether or not he is on the side of good or bad...

Depends on what you mean as 'best' - I went for Bellatrix as I love her metaphorical moustache-twirling bat-shit hysterical evilness. Straight out of a Batman comic, that one... Most actually evil? Schnagglepuss, obviously. Most relatable, real-world evil? Umbridge. Most fascinating? Snape But, yeah, love a nutjob in a corset me. Go Bellatrix.
