I'm not sure if any of you are aware but Twin Peaks just threw out a landmark episode at us this week. Not a landmark for Twin Peaks but a landmark for TV in general. I only had three episodes to choose from for my favorite moment....and though I knew which episode would get my favorite moment, I had no idea what to pick.

The whole episode was quite like a horrifyingly beautiful dream that all mixed together. Was it bizarre? Yes. But I'm not sure I've ever seen any TV episode quite like it. And I watch a LOT of TV.

The moment I decided to go with was what I interpreted to be the birth of Laura Palmer. Possibly to somehow combat the birth of BOB. Sure I don't know if this is really what happened. I think David Lynch might be the only one who is genuinely sure. It's always lovely to see the Giant again....who I've always seen as the epitome of Good in this strange universe. And to see him possibly doing what he can to bring good into the world was wonderful.

This scene was beyond beautiful. Now the young couple we saw....could be Bob's parents, could be Laura's parents and could be something else entirely. I can't wait to go back and watch this episode when the season finishes with a bit more perspective. But it's a testament to this show that you can watch a scene like this without full knowledge of what's going on and still be deeply moved. Twin Peaks is knocking it out of the very bizarre park and I'm loving every second of it.
