Is it before Halloween and I'm asking for Holiday Season suggestions? Yes, yes I am.

Given I will be taking a two week break starting at the end of November, I have to get a lot of things filmed very early on. (My holiday set up is already in full force recording wise) So I'd love to ask for some suggestions for my final Extra Movie Reaction of the year. As it will go out during holiday season, I'm asking for any Holiday Movies, Christmas Specials/TV Episodes, etc. that you might want to see me react to! It does not have to be a full length movie this time! Please only give suggestions pertaining to the holiday season.

As per usual if I've seen what you suggest, it won't go on the poll and try to limit your suggestions to a handful at most. If I get too many suggestions, I will have to use my judgement on what to pick for the poll. Thanks for all the suggestions in advance! The poll will be out shortly.

The Polar Express, fun filled Christmas-y

Spirited: Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds answer the question, what do the Christmas Carol ghosts get up to when they're not haunting people? And you know how the villain's song is always the best one? This movie has one of the best from at least the last ten years despite not really having a villain.

Well, seeing as how my favorite Christmas movie more or less crashed and burned on a previous holiday poll, and I seriously doubt my second favorite Christmas movie will do much better, plus some of my other favorite Christmas movies haven’t done too well in previous polls, let’s just keep it simple and say A Christmas Carol. Namely, since we’ve been going through Next Gen, A Christmas Carol from 1999 starring our dear beloved Jean-Luc himself, Patrick Stewart.

Dean Nolan

The Night Before 2015, and they probably wont win but they are my go to Christmas traditional watch shows, Steptoe and Son Christmas Special (any of them), or Some Mothers Do Av Em Christmas Special

Mark McKeown

Peep Show ‘Seasonal Beatings’ Jonathan Creek ‘Black Canary’ The Vicar of Dibley ‘The Christmas Lunch Incident’

Dean Nolan

And thank you for doing a Holiday Special reaction, it is much appreciated and we are looking forward to it!

Scrooge (1970) (not Scrooged). It's a musical version of the Christmas classic with Albert Finney (Erin Brokovitch). It was produced by the same people who did Oliver!.

Ryan

My favorite performance of Scrooge trolling Cratchit on Christmas.

Ryan

The scariest portrayal of Hell on film.

Ryan

Since it seems TV episodes are also part of this, I’ll add Ted Lasso’s Carol of the Bells. The really great part is it doesn’t even matter if you’re familiar with the show at all, since this season got a surprise extra two episode order, and rather than change their pacing plans, they simply added two episodes with total standalone stories, including this one.

The Holdovers, which will be on endless repeat in my household for the next two months

Jordan Love

Probably won't win a poll but The Ref (1994) is a criminally underrated (and under-reacted to) Christmas movie with Denis Leary, Judy Davis and Kevin Spacey.

Geordie Joe

Still Game - Hogmanay Special Probably has no chance of winning the poll but you never know

Paul mix

I'd suggest the 1984 version of A Christmas Carol, with George C. Scott. Not only does that have my favorite portrayal of Scrooge (even over Stewart), the rest of the cast is great (including a Classic Who companion you might recognize)!

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to forward some suggestions Jess. Two things spring to mind in terms of Christmas. One is a film and one a short series. The film is the Amazing Mr Blunden from 1972 (which I've suggested before). It probably won't win because it's a lesser known film heavily overshadowed by Mary Poppins which came out the same year + it rarely gets repeated, but it's every bit as magical. The series, which is the same length as a 6 part Classic Who story is The Box of Delights. Nothing is quite as Christmassy - a beautifully stold story, adapted from a much earlier book. Even if you don't end up reacting to it, I would urge you to try watching it at some point. Plus I think you'll be more than pleasently surprised by at least one actor in it (no spoilers here please anyone!).

Have you ever reacted to The Goes Wrong Show? Peter Pan Goes Wrong is one of their finest!

DieWinterkirsche

The first thing I thought of was "Terrifier 3" (because of the Christmas Setting xD), but since it's the third movie of a franchise, I´d put that aside :D I pick "Santa’s Slay " ^^

TokuBLWhovian

Bob the Builder: A Christmas to Remember (UK Original/Dub) EastEnders: Episode 5835-5836 (25th December 2018) A Christmas Carol (ITV’s 2000 adaptation)

Dave Sanders

Gremlins and Die Hard are both technically Christmas movies.

Marissa Nielsen

Klaus, Little Women (either the 2019 or 1994 version - they're both great), Rise of the Guardians

Ryan

And the one I love to call the greatest Christmas movie ever, The Lion in Winter.

Vanessa J McNamara

Big Bang Theory Season 2 Ep 11 The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis on Max The Sound of Music Miracle on 34th Street (the original) A Downton Abbey Christmas

K-man

done arthur christmas yet? modern classic!

sesskasays

I'm genuinely curious if I could get through any of the terrifiers without fainting.....but I'm not sure I'm going to put that to the test on camera lol

DieWinterkirsche

That's fair! :) IF you would react to it, I'd suggest handling it like you did with Kill Bill Vol 1. and ask friends if there are scenes they think you should skip for your own sake (there is at least one scene in each of the two movies I've seen that might be too rough)... :) While I would love to see your reactions to those movies, it's not worth if it knocks you out.

Josef Schiltz

May I suggest the BBC adaptation of John Masefield's The Box of Delights, Jess? There's a familiar face, a character actor, that I know for sure that you love - albeit he has a big bushy beard in this one. It's a six half-hour episode Christmas serial set in the mid-30s. It was a Christmas treat that was first broadcast in 1984. The theme music is from Victor Hely-Hutchinson's (1901-47) : Carol Symphony and the movement Andante quasi lento e cantabile based on The First Noel. This program was the most magical thing that ever happened. The run up to that Christmas in 1984 will never be forgotten. Pure magic!

Imperial Mort

The Star Wars Holiday Special

Mark McKeown

Thomas you know I get an email notification on replies right, this is the 3rd time you've commented this in one way or another and then deleted it lol. Plz. But yes, thanks

Lucas

It probably doesn't count since it's an audio but I would love if you could react to The Chimes of Midnight (I hope you can get to it one day when you've finished Classic Who anyway)

BF Jonny

Since it is the 40th Anniversary I'd love to see your reaction to the six part BBC series The Box Of Delights. Technically it is not a movie but was broadcast over the Christmas period in 1984. It features the second doctor Patrick Troughton and is a very enjoyable show. The Blu-ray has just come out but I have it on DVD and can rip it to viewable video files. If you would like me to send you the files let me know

Batman Returns - The Christmas movie..
