The Doctor’s Wife was one of the highlights of my TV week. I will admit, when I was watching the episode at first, I had a moment where I really was wondering how much I was going to love the episode. The beginning was delightfully quirky but bizarre nonetheless. Though I loved Amy and Rory’s house of horrors……the best part of the episode was when Idris finally said “Hello”.

This scene to me gave viewers something they didn’t even know they were yearning for. It was a time where The Doctor was able to finally speak to the TARDIS. They made an amazing team. They bickered like a couple who have been married for years. There was just something so wonderful and delightful about their interaction throughout the whole episode. I have no other words to describe how I felt watching them together than my heart was full.

In Doctor Who, no one stays very long and the story is always changing. The idea that we have the two characters that have been there the whole time finally “meet” each other is overwhelmingly emotionally and touches our hearts. To me, I am so glad this story was given to Matt Smith. Not only is he my favorite Doctor but he just portrays this old soul so well for being so young. This scene where he just looks at his old girl was beyond beautiful and he stole my heart all over again.
