i have so many thoughts 1) honestly the friendship between ikon and ateez is my favorite part of kingdom so far. and wooyoung is scary the way he called his shot on being friends with jinhwan and then followed through. my introvert self could never 2) maybe this is just me, but i feel like ateez are unintentionally being sabotaged by placing first with the experts bc people are going out of their way to not vote for them. i feel like if they were like 3rd or 4th with the experts they'd probably get around 3rd or 4th with fan votes. idk the situation sucks at this point tho, cause people are usually respectful of performances they didn't like if the performance ranks low, but when performances people don't like rank highly people feel entitled to say whatever they want (i guess because it doesn't feel like their words matter as much/they're not such an easy target) and some of it is starting to like cross the line into bullying. kinda sucks esp cause the expert vote is only 25% of each round, as opposed to fan voting being 40%, so it's not like they're being handed a win anyway

3) i kind of wonder if expert votes are given based on who they think won't receive fan votes so that the numbers end up more even at the end. i would think they would want to avoid any groups being like considerably lower in points at the end of the show 4) i came into the show wanting ikon to place top 3 but it's getting uncomfortable to watch them lip sync every performance and i feel like even though i love them in general, if they did well on kingdom it wouldn't be fair to the other groups that are at least singing live, even if they make mistakes or have voice cracks or whatever 5) i literally don't know anything about sf9 but their round 2 performance was so fun i can't believe it didn't rank higher across the board. frankly i don't care about how well they met the theme of "reborn", it makes more sense to vote on how good the performance was all around imo and theirs was fun to watch

Finished watching your reaction. Your ranking is mine for the top 3 - BTOB, iKON, SF9. BTOB - Not only did they change up the song, they still managed to incorporate the signature things into it but make it feel fresh. Their stage was a great concept too and easy to follow along! Worthy of #1. iKON - As I said last ep, they understood the assignment and remade the song. For me their performance was ikonic and iconic. It was true to them, but with a splash of Mnet in there (moving walls hello!). SF9 - Again same as my last review, they gave us a movie. The song felt very similar but the stage itself was awesome! Mature, grown men doing body rolls while fighting bad guys? Sign me up! Here is my ranking for the bottom 3 - SKZ, ATZ, TBZ SKZ - I never even noticed the flaws in their vocals. For me I give them props for trying it. However, I felt their stage was lacking. Also I felt the story line was lost a little. Can they try something different from this dark and demony realm too? ATZ - Honestly the song didn't wow me and I didn't like how it felt like members were walking to points on the stage (See Jong Ho part where he walks backwards for like 3 steps and then motions to Wooyoung). I have never seen the show they were talking about but how did a heist become waking up emotionless folks with music? What were they stealing? How was this a thing? I am confused all the way around. I have seen this concept done better (See Fantastic Baby by Big Bang or even better Brown Eyed Girls - Sixth Sense) so they fall here. TBZ - They rank last for me just because I still don't understand the story line. So no connection and really forgettable beyond the already catchy chorus part...which I will attest to having stuck in my head for days after last ep! It wasn't enough to make me rewatch their stage but enough to give the original a spin or two. That being said, I do think all teams did well. I think MNET is up to something hinky. Their experts are whack, strategic voting is a thing (if you know the rankings you know what I mean), and yeah overall the budget thing and how screentime seems to be different between groups, lead me to just hope that the groups as well as the fans just take it all in stride. No one loses here. All these groups are winners and are doing nothing but gaining fans with this.

i feel like this show is making these groups do things that they shouldn’t. i feel like jongho has been straining with those notes (and they don’t sound good to me) stray kids chose a song that was too high for them and they were straining. the last round jaeyoon from sf9 insisted on doing that jump even though he had an injured knee. this show literally isn’t worth messing up their throats or knees and it’s so crazy to me they don’t realize this.

My rankings: 1. iKON 2. SF9 3. BtoB 4. ATEEZ 5. TBZ 6. SKZ Absolutely no criteria LOL, just based on what i keep watching to over and over. I hate rankings in general cuz they all do a really great job of playing to their strengths so not one performance was lacking imo. This is just based on my personal preference and style of music/performance i prefer

My top three are BtoB sf9 and ikon this round. And more than anything I'm realizing that my main criticism of Kingdom so far has nothing to do with the performances as much as it is the music choices. in queendom and road to Kingdom I feel like there was a lot of focus put on making the song sound really good while this season the song arrangement feels kind of throw away like they're just making a remix that will highlight the performance aspect. Like there are arrangements from road to Kingdom that I actually downloaded the mp3s and listen to and that's what I feel like my top three this round did successfully. I don't have a problem with all the props being used this season because props won't hide bad performing I just need a stronger musical focus I feel like we won't get it until they do the original song at the end now.

Totally agree! Haven’t been too crazy about the remixes so far tbh. The only ones i liked so far are iKONs intro stage and Inception stage and BtoB Back Door stage. Also Full DaSH (that song is a full bop 😁).
