While we were still working on volume 1, I did a few page concepts for volume 2 while I was working on the script. For the past week I've been currently working on a third draft for volume 4, so I've also been doing a few concept pages based on scenes from the script, alongside those redesigns I did the other day. This is for patrons only, so please do not share it!

The first completed draft for volume 4 was completed in 2020. Before then, I had written a lot of little script snippets and tiny underdeveloped moments of the volume's plot going back as early as 2018. That first draft, while it was well-rounded and had a coherent plot, had some characterization issues because of the fact the volume was first developed that early on in the reboot, and the character dynamics and interactions did not fully match what the modern, current ones are -- so earlier this year, I decided I would start writing a new draft for it, but keeping a lot of similar scenes and concepts in tact. There's a lot of stuff that's just copied straight from the original, because it wasn't all wrong or anything.

These page concepts I've done are new scenes that had not been written in the original 2020 draft or any of the earlier script snippets going back several years.

This volume includes the introduction of Dr. Party, the day psychologist at the hospital!

If you weren't around for the preboot or haven't seen him on any social media before, here they are!

If you were around for the preboot, you probably remember Party to be extremely negative and the "nihilist" doctor. This is not the case in the reboot! Party's personality has completely changed and his style of therapy is... quite different (I have done a concept page revealing what this is like, but no spoilers! You'll see when they get here! I'd like it to be a surprise.)

Volume 4 has some lighthearted moments like in this concept page...

(There's a lot of silly Barruni stuff going on in this volume, this is just one example of PLENTY. I call it "The Barruni Volume" for a reason!)

...but in actuality, the volume is considerably dark and emotional at a lot of moments.

(I wonder what Uni's talking about here?)

Especially You has a bit of a dramatic blend between heavy, dark emotions and absolute absurdity and silliness. It's a bit different than the previous three volumes for several reasons, but that gives it an interesting charm and makes it stand out.

That's all for now! Thanks for reading!
