((Y/N)'s POV) Age: 7

Last week was my grandpa's funeral and I didn't know how to feel about it. He wasn't around a lot because he lived so far away and when he was around, he made us read a lot. I wasn't a big fan of reading, but some books were a little good and not meant for babies. I just like to play video games and outside more to do things like swim or ride my bike with my friends. Now, that he was gone, my mom got his house, the money he had, and we were all moving out there. Me, Mom, Dad, and my 3-year-old brother. My parents would read to my brother from the books Grandpa gave us, bought me, or bought him. They even made us read at least 10 pages a day because Grandpa always says...

(Y/N)'s mind-Imagination is an adventure.

We made it to the house and the movers beat us here since we took a while to say goodbye from our old home, and stopped for food too. I helped bring some stuff out of the car that was mine first, like my Nintendo Switch that died on the way over here. I had to read a book called Percy Jackson And The Lightning Theif. It was a little hard and different from the movie. Better than reading a baby book in front of people. The first thing I did was put the stuff in what was going to be my room and put my Switch on the charger so that when I was done unpacking other small things, I could play with it. When I got back outside, my dad gave me a box that had the word "Books" on it. I knew it had to be the baby books for my brother.

(D/N)-Here, take these to the library. It's the smaller building by the garden area.

I walked with the box to the library and it looked like it was as big as if you cut the house into 3 pieces. Still big though, but when I got to the door, it was locked. I put the box down and opened it to see the baby books and some had shows on T.V., like A Max and Ruby book, Chowder, Winnie The Pooh, and some others. I went back to my dad and found him in the house telling the men where to put our things.

(Y/N)-Dad, the library is locked. I can't get in.

(D/N)-Oh, I think I have the key... Actually, just take them and find out which key it is. Daddy is busy and Mommy is taking care of (B/N) upstairs.

(Y/N)-Can I play a game after?

(D/N)-Did you get your pages in for the day?

(Y/N)-I read 15 from a big book on the way here.

(D/N)-Awesome, you got your games back when you get those books in the library.

I went back to the library and tried key after key to get the stupid door unlocked, but there were so many keys on the ring. Almost everything here had a key lock on it. Except for the gate to get into the front yard... Never mind, I see a door by it.

(Y/N)'s mind-Who's gonna come all the way out here anyway?!

I finally got the key right and opened the library. It looked a little dark, so I turned on the lights, but only a few came on. I opened up some curtains in here to see how many books were in here and there were enough to fill all 4 shelves on a wall and a small row near the middle of this place. There was one part of the library upstairs that was bared up with another gate, but it opened with the same key to get in here. I just wanted to see what you would lock up in a library and there was a small table, a comfy chair, and a wooden pedal stool with a glass cover on it that had...

<figure></figure>

(Y/N)-A pen?... Metal bars with a lock, and a pedal stool for a pen?... Wait, is that a pen?

I saw a small thing of ink next to it, but I just left this cell or whatever to get the books from outside in here and left to go play video games.

(Timeskip To Tonight)

(No POV)

Late at night while the family was asleep, the new books in the library began to glow a soft light for a few moments with sparkles coming off of them to dance around the library. The glow went away and the library returned to darkness. The glass ben upstairs twinkled a bit too.

(Timeskip To Morning)

((Y/N)'s POV)

I was online playing with my friends after breakfast and we were playing Mario Party, but after this game, my parents wanted me to play outside or something. I kept on getting robbed of my coins because Carlos and Ben made a team and did not steal from each other.

(Y/N)-You two are so annoying like this!

Carlos-You were doing good at first.

Ben-We leveled the playing field.

I hated this and by the time the game was over, my Dad came in and told me to get some shoes on to go outside, but...

(Y/N)-What can I do outside with no friends around here?

(D/N)-We got a pool and you like swimming. There are 'tons' of books in the library you can read. The classic fairytales are much cooler than the kid versions... You can't read those just yet, but there is a good number in there. You are bound to find something... Tell you what, if you play outside until dinner, I'll throw in ice cream Sundaes tonight for dessert.

(Y/N)-Deal!

He left and there was no way I was gonna be bored all day just for some ice cream, so I had an idea. I slipped my Switch into the back of my pants a little and put a charger in my pocket. I walked right past my parents and went outside to the library and pulled my stuff out when I got inside.

(No POV)

(M/N)-You think he knows there are no outlets in the library?

(D/N)-He'll figure it out. Some ice cream later will turn that frown upside down.

((Y/N)'s POV)

(Y/N)'s mind-WHERE ARE THE PLUGS?!?!?!

This place has electricity in it, so where are the plugs?! My Switch soon died before I could play again and now I had nothing to do! I put it down on a table and thought about what my dad said, so I tried to find the storybooks in here that he said were better. The sunlight helped me with the lamps too. I looked on the small aisle and noticed a sign that said: "Do not read". There were even loose chains to keep them from falling.

(Y/N)-Little Red Riding Hood,... Alice In Wonderland,... Snow White,... Snow Queen,... Wizard of Oz, Goldilocks, and the 3 Bears... Why would you put this on a warning sign?... Maybe it was for Halloween or something.

With nothing else to do, I just played catch a tiger by its toe to choose and I got... Little Red Riding Hood.

(Y/N)-What's so bad about a fairytale story anyway. I already know what happens... The book just looks bigger.

Little Red Riding Hood takes goodies to her grandma's house and runs into the Big Bad Wolf, he gets ahead of her to beat her to the house, eats the grandma, tried to eat her, and then the woodsman comes in to save the day. Everyone knows that. I took the book with me to a comfy chair in here next to an empty fireplace with wood and stuff next to it, but it was too hot to start a fire and... I'm not allowed to make a fire by myself.

(Y/N)-Imagination is an adventure huh? What's so special about old and dusty books in a boring library?

I opened the book and started to read, but before I can even finish the first sentence, the book started to glow and sparkle a little. The library started to shake and I panicked before I threw the book down and watched it glow brighter.

(Y/N)-Huh?! MOM!!! DAD!!!

I tried to run out of here, but the windows were shining in a very bright light for a moment, so I covered my eyes until it stopped. My eyes stung a little, but I could still see and the ground was not shaking anymore.

(Y/N)-What just happened?... Mom, Dad!

I ran outside, but I didn't see the house anymore... I was in the woods and heard birds chirping when a deer ran by a trail. My head was starting to spin while I was trying to guess what happened. A book glowed, the library shook, the windows flashed or something, and now... I'm here... I went back into the library and opened the book again, but this time, nothing happened. I put it on the table and went back outside to look for help and ask where I am. When I walked down the path I tried to call out for someone until I got scared of what or who else might come... I still called out, but not at much until I saw an old-looking house. I walked up to it to see if anyone was home and it looked small and there was even a well next to it. Before I could make it to the door, I saw it open, so I hid behind a tree to see a girl come out while talking to her mother. I couldn't hear them, but I think I know who that is and if it is 'her' then I know what they are talking about.

<figure></figure>

(Y/N)-I'm dreaming... Yes, this all has to be a dream.

I pinched myself, but it did hurt a little, and since that test failed... I tried it again somewhere else. I kept on doing it again and again until...

???-Hello?

(Y/N)-Ahh!

I jumped and looked up to see Little Red Riding Hood... The real Little Red Riding Hood.

Little Red Riding Hood-Oh, my apologies. I did not mean to scare you... I do believe I never saw you around here before. Did you just move here?

(Y/N)-Ummm... Yes. I'm lost... Do you know where I am?

Little Red Riding Hood-Why, you are in the woods of course?

(Y/N)-N-No. Where in the woods? What's t called?

Little Red Riding Hood-I... I am not too sure, but I am sure we are somewhere in Europe.

(Y/N)-Europe?!

Little Red Riding Hood-Is that bad?

(Y/N)-Ummm... I-I have to get home.

Little Red Riding Hood-I thought you said you were lost and Mother says these woods are dangerous if you do not stay on the path... Come, my granny needs this cake and wine to feel better, and after Mother can help.

(Y/N)'s mind-Cake and wine?... I thought it was just cookies, but there's an adult drink in here?... What else is different?

She took me with her down the path and in the book it says it's a long walk and we meet... Oh no. I tried to tell her that we have to hurry, but she said if we go too fast by running then the cake might get squished or the wine will bounce out. I don't know what to say to make her believe me. I know I am in a fairytale or something, but I can't just let someone possibly die! Dream, coma, or whatever!

(Y/N)-Listen, we need to run!

???-And why do you need to do that? *echo*

(Y/N)'s mind-Ohhh no.

We saw the Big Bad Wolf come out of the bushes and Little Red Riding Hood didn't look scared at all, but she wasn't scared in the other stories... EVEN WHEN HE WAS TALLER THAN US!!!

<figure></figure>

He slowly walked up to us and had a smile on his face, but I know this part of the story and know that he is lair... I was just never scared before.

Big Bad Wolf-Well hello there Little Red Riding Hood. Who's your friend?

Little Red Riding Hood-Hello, Mr. Wolf. This is (Y/N) and he is very lost, so I am helping him after I bring this cake and wine to my grandmother.

Big Bad Wolf-How nice of you... Where does your grandmother live again?

Little Red Riding Hood-A good quarter of a league farther on in the wood. Her house stands under the three large oak trees, the nut trees are just below. You surely must know it

Big Bad Wolf-Little Red Riding Hood, how pretty the flowers are about here. Why do you not look around? I believe, too, that you do not hear how sweetly the little birds are singing. You walk gravely along as if you were going to school, while everything else out here in the wood is merry.

She looked around and smiled a little before she looked back at the Big Bad Wolf. He did sound so convincing, but I knew this was the part where he goes ahead of her to eat the grandma and get her.

Little Red Riding Hood-Perhaps some flowers would help cheer her up. Thank you kindly, Mr. Wolf.

Now,... he looked at me when she went off the trail a little to pick some flowers.

Big Bad Wolf-I am terribly sorry that you are lost and far from home, but I am sure if you were to come with me, I could swiftly take you out of the forest.

(Y/N)-... Thanks, but I'll stay with Red.

Big Bad Wolf-Red?... Is that a nickname for Little Red Riding Hood?... Well then, I suppose I can't force you, but do stick together. It is rather dangerous out here.

He took off and my heart sank. I'm not letting Red go to her grandma's house because if this story is darker than a kid's book, I don't know if she dies too... I'm not sticking around to find out. Red came back to me with flowers and hummed a little song until I grabbed her.

<figure></figure>

Red-Look (Y/N). Do you think my grandmother will like the flowers I picked for her?

(Y/N)-Red, listen to me! You can not trust the Big Bad Wolf! We have to go!

Red-Red?... Also, do you mean Mr. Wolf? But, he's very nice and caring.

(Y/N)-He is a liar!

Red-I... see that you are scared, but I do not like you telling me lies about my friends!

(Y/N)-Well... I can prove it! Come on!

I took her with me and she started to talk about needing to get to her grandmother, but her grandmother is probably already eaten. We made it back to the library and I brought her inside and closed the doors before I grabbed her book from the table. I opened it for her to look inside and she looked confused.

Red-I do apologize, but I can not read very well.

(Timeskip 10 Minutes)

I read some of the story for her as best as I could and when I stopped, she looked like she didn't believe me... Why would she? Anyone can write or say anything and call it true... The wolf is just so tricky.

Red-Please, wait here and I shall return with my mother to help you.

(Y/N)-Red!

Red-My name is Little Red Riding Hood, to you. Good day.

She left the library and I tossed the book onto the table. I was starting to think if this is just a coma from that earthquake and if I should just stay in here to wait to wake up.

(Y/N)-This is stupid!

(Red's POV)

I wasted so much time already, but at least the cake and wine did not get damaged. I kept on going to my grandmother's house. On my way there, I took a shortcut off the trail and when I saw the trail again, I saw Mr. Wolf and... he was walking from the direction of my grandmother's house wearing her clothes.

<figure></figure>

Mr. Wolf-Oh Little Red Riding Hood!... Where are you?! *echo*

I thought he was just being silly, but then I saw something dripping off of his mouth when I got close enough. It was hard because his fur was black, but I saw the trail he left was red.

Red's mind-Red?... Is... that-?

Mr. Wolf-Come little one! I came to help you to your grandmother! She is so 'terribly' ill! *echo*

I remembered what (Y/N) read to me and when I did, I dropped the basket and the cake and wine spilled out onto the ground.

Red's mind-... Granny?... Mr. Wolf?... Big Bad Wolf.

I noticed that he stopped in his tracks and shook the clothes he had on him off. I quickly started to run and the place filled with books was closer, so I headed for (Y/N) first. After a while of running... I could hear him.

Big Bad Wolf-Please dear! It is only more wine your granny had!... There is no need to be afraid! *echo*

Tears started to come out of my eyes when I felt so scared. (Y/N) was right! MR. WOLF IS A BIG BAD WOLF!!!

Big Bad Wolf-RED?!?!?!... LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD?!?!?! *echo*

((Y/N)'s POV)

If this is a dream then I tried to dream up some power for my Nintendo Switch at the very least, but nothing was working. Pinching myself still hurt, so I explored the library some more and was about to go back upstairs to the room with the desk and weird glass dip pen until I heard screaming. My body jolted a little and when I heard the screaming again...

(Y/N)-It's just the story... A fairytale... What am I doing?

I ran to the doors and opened them to see Red running down the trail. She was crying and looked very scared.

<figure></figure>

Red-(Y/N)!!! YOU WERE RIGHT!!! PLEASE, HELP ME!!!

Big Bad Wolf-OOHHHHH RREEEED!!!

I looked behind her and she turned while still running to me, and we saw the Big Bad Wolf at the top of the small hill before he ran down to come after us.

<figure></figure>

My heart started to race as he quickly gained on her, but she was so close. I closed one of the doors and locked it, and got the other door ready by locking it, but held it open for her.

(Y/N)-HURRY UP!!!

She kept on running and Big Bad Wolf is getting closer, but when she got inside I slammed the door shut just before he made it. He ran into and clawed at the door while Red and I both fell to the ground.

Big Bad Wolf-OPEN THIS DOOR!!! LET ME IN!!!

The doors were moving and I don't know if they would hold against him. Red was crying still and hugged me tightly while we looked at the door. I never thought a story from a fairytale could be so scary...

(Y/N)'s mind-Fairytale?... THAT'S IT!!!

(Y/N)-I GOT AN IDEA!!!

I got Red to let go of me and ran to the small aisle of books and pulled a random book out from behind a loose chain and opened it.

Red-H-How is a *hic* book going to-?!

The ground started shaking again and the lights came back on just to flicker. Red ran to me and held onto me while she kept on screaming and pulled me under a table with her. The light from the windows flashed in here and when the light calmed down, the flickering stopped, and the ground wasn't shaking anymore...

Red-*Sniffle* Wh-What did you do?

(Y/N)-I... still don't know.

Nothing was banging on the door now, and the yelling completely stopped. I peeked out the windows to see... a bird, but something about it looked weird and Red came out from the table.

Red-Is... he gone?

(Y/N)-I think so... Are you ok Little Red Riding Hood?

Red-... Red... Please, call me Red. Also, yes. I am not hurt.

I went to the door and opened both of them to see the outside with Red and she looked surprised, amazed, and still scared.

Red-M-Mr. (Y/N)... Where are we?

I looked at the book I opened and the title said...

(Y/N)-Alice in Wonderland.
