One thing I love about classic fantasy is that magic items are usually super rare and come with horrible curses. Case in point: the One Ring from Lord of the Rings. While New Sanctaria/Witchfinder's Grimoire certainly has magic and the supernatural, magic items aren't always necessarily something the players want to find and use.

This is the start of the magic item section. It expands on the Special Features tables from the DMG (see page 141-143), but customizes it for this 1600s'esque/English Civil War time period.

I love the idea of magic items having a cost. Common trope that I think helps balance out magical power (the more powerful an item or spell - the more cost to the user / caster).
