Tales of the Valiant Kickstarter is Almost Finished

Unless you've been living under an earth elemental for the last month, chances are you've heard that Tales of the Valiant (previously Black Flag) is now live on Kickstarter. They're pretty close to hitting $1,000,000, too!

What is Tales of the Valiant?

Tales of the Valiant (ToV) keeps all the best of 5E D&D and adds a Kobold Press spin to the well-loved game. It combines the Creative Commons foundation of 5th Edition with new elements to create a powerful Kobold-style 5E with teeth.   New 5E Options. Of course, ToV includes the fighter, wizard, and rogue, and dwarves and elves. Much more than that, it provides a wealth of new options and expanded gameplay. Explore the new Mechanist class and try out the kobold, outsider, and beastkin character lineages. Tales of the Valiant provides hundreds of new options for talents, spells, and monsters.

How is DMDave Publishing Involved?

What you might not have known, however, is that DMDave Publishing is now an adventure partner for Tales of the Valiant. When Tales of the Valiant hits the $950,000 mark, we'll be adding in a brand new, never-before-seen Tales of the Valiant-approved adventure titled Shadowdeep: Secrets of the Abyss. This adventure will be a level 11 to 20 adventure path that will be compatible with both Tales of the Valiant and Fifth Edition.

We're keeping the details under wraps for now, but just know that it's going to be unlike anything we've ever put out for the DMDave team.   Once ToV hits $950,000 it'll become part of the Partner Adventure pack, joining a slew of other awesome publishing companies such as Frog God Games, SteamForged, Ghostfire, and more.

The only reason I haven't backed it yet is, that I'll have to wait for the localized version. As much, as this sucks, I just don't want to have to translate every single paragraph to my players, over and over ad nauseum :-/

I'm German and my players don't speak enough English, so guess what I'm doing, besides being the DM ;-)

This is so cool. Will this be themed within Kobold's Midgard setting?

I would love to see your take on it, but looking forward to it either way.

I’m discussing it with them now. I’m pretty good at lore deep dives and I’m a big KP ghouls fan

I've run my take on the Empire of Ghouls for the last year and a half, but I recently forked the entire adventure into a full trek through the outskirts of the Ghoul Imperium. It's been an amazing experience. But, for all of the great lore they've released related to the Ghoul Imperium, I'm so curious about what lies outside of it. You gotta do this, man! Haha.

Meh. Seems kind of expensive for what amounts to editing the CC 5e SRD into new documents and adding some Kobold-Flavor or whatever. I am surprised they have the PDF package so high to start with. But it's all good. When the DMDave adventure is available separately I'll snag that.
