Hey all!

November is almost here. So that means it’s time to figure out the content slate for next month. I’ll probably have a few Dungeons & Lairs packs plus a longer story. And if I get enough time, I’ll also release more USNT.

But what theme should I do for November?

  • Give me your idea down in the comments below. Try not to do more than a few words—think of it as elevator pitch
  • Also look through the other ideas and thumbs up the ones you like best.

Thanks!

Imagine this, a land under a curse to exist in an eternal late harvest world. The players' job is to break the curse and they will celebrate a Thanksgiving with the local inhabitants.

A battle is joined between the forces of Light and Darkness at the midpoint between the Autumnal equinox and the Winter solstice. Major players on each side are vying for combatants. If the Light is victorious, the seasons continue as they always have but, if the Darkness wins, Winter shall prevail for a year and a day over the Land.

Let’s free-associate here: November…Thanksgiving…Pilgrims…Chaucer! How about a suitably warped 5e version of the Canterbury Tales? The Monk’s Tale, the Knight’s Tale, the Man of Law’s Tale, the Man of Chaos’ Tale, the Bard’s Tale ;-), …

Happy Chaos! That what November/ Thanksgiving make me think about. A chaotic good-natured imp, a cross between Dobby and Mr. Myxlplyx, could be a good mascot.

That sounds pretty cool! Wish folks like my anthology more tho 😅

Expect the unexpected. Accept a job, turns out you're not the hero. Moral quandaries. Mimics/changelings in unexpected places/situations. I'd love to see content with a twist.

Aztec themed location, a storm hits at night every night and blistering hot sun strikes during the day, a powerful but ancient and forgotten deity has been slighted, the party are tasked by the theocratic leadership to resolve the issue

I really like this idea, and I've tried to do it with a party I was DM'ing for. A story that gives a moment where the party are thinking "hang on, are we the baddies?" I think it can be really powerful when the overriding themes of adventures are saving the kingdom etc.

witch puts curse on land. leaves fall off trees, get covered in snow, each leaf incubates and becomes a creature of the night. thats why parents want kids to rake leaves and burn them.

Great start,, roll in some nature magic, some exploiting of land for power/profit, touch of underdark dungeons as deep waterfilled caverns or high mountain hidden valleys, scales all the way up to dragons/demigods add a twist that part of the theocracy caused it

A lot of next year's content will involve the world post Hot8

A royal hunting party is out gathering deer, boar, pheasant and turkeys for the coming coronation festivities. When the party returns both the King and Queen are missing. All that is left is a message that states "Payment is due." What payment? For what? To whom? A mystery! Solve it before the kingdom falls into civil war.

Grumpy Teacher

Turns out that the king and queen were playing a prank and were found in the basement munching on some cake (they just wanted some peace and quiet).

Dunno about adventures but I just saw Dune so: political turmoil in a hell desert?
