Man, this was a fun experiment. I really enjoyed watching so many creative minds come together and build something amazing. The entire thing was truly impressive and I applaud the effort everyone put into it! I could not have done any of this without you. Seriously!

However, some sad news. Effective today, I'm ending the game.

I want to go back to focusing on what I really enjoy which is making people's requests and creating exciting Fifth Edition content.

I suppose I should give a quick explanation why:

The first week in, the game started out rough. The rules were pretty harsh and there was a lot of confusion over what to do. That was my fault and I take the blame for it.

So I changed up the rules and made it more free form. And to start, everyone really seemed to enjoy it!

But now we're on to the third day of actions and already there's more drama unfolding. I come back from working my day job and hanging with my family to PMs that are, frankly, more than a little stressful.

This game takes up a ton of my time. Like a lot. Writing 24,000 words per week is no easy task for most, and I'm having to do this on top of the amount that I already write for both my site and my day job. Which is fine as long as it's fun. But after reading through the chats today, I don't think it's fun anymore.

I want to be clear: the majority of you have really made this fun and exciting to be a part of. It isn't just through your actions and gameplay that I've found myself standing back impressed, but in your sportsmanship and just plain awesomeness. I hope we continue our relationships in the D&D community.

I understand there will some blowback from this. I'm prepared for it. But also know this:

For all involved in the game that continue as patrons, I'd like to award you double your normal CT count on top of whatever you've currently got. Hopefully, that'll soften the blow a little.  If you still need to downgrade your account, leave, or request a refund from Patreon, I totally understand. No hard feelings whatsoever. It's my fault for letting it go this far in the first place and I'd rather you feel comfortable more than anything.

I'd also like to keep the GoW discord server open as a place for us to get along as equals and talk about D&D and other fun stuff. I'll be there to answer questions and help out as normal, just in a different capacity. I want to go back to being DMDave instead of ODDave. :)

Again, thank you all for understanding. If you need to speak with my directly, I'll be on Discord today accepting PMs and answering questions in the questions-for-dave chat.

Looks like I left a Day too early to reap the blowback rewards lol. All jokes aside, it was awesome to see and experience all of different creative fields from the amazing Patreon’s here. With out a doubt It has inspired countless amazing ideas for me and I thank everyone who has contributed. :)
