Patch Notice (2023-04-14): A small patch has been uploaded (1.7.1a) to fix an issue where fairies were not displaying correctly.

Good morning! 🐎🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕️

Today marks the release of yet another update to the Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D 4K texture pack! It includes 30+ new textures, covering both the UI, environment and more, this time focusing primarily on Lon Lon Ranch, Zora's Domain and Kokiri Forest. The update has many other improvements as well! Check out the full changelog down below;

This was posted in the previous updates' post as well, but as a reminder (or if this is your first time using the Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D 4K texture pack), Here are the default key bindings for using the bottom screen with your controller;

 • D-Pad Up: Free Cam (First Person View)
 • D-Pad Left: Ocarina
 • D-Pad Right: Item Slot 1
 • D-Pad Down: Item Slot 2
 • Select: Items Menu
 • Left Joystick Button: Gear
 • Right Joystick Button: Map

You may need to set these bindings again on your own controller in case Citra does not recognize it automatically. Simply double click the input button for each respective button and press the corresponding button on your controller and you should be good to go!

This should make the game much more enjoyable, especially if you're playing on a TV where you definitely don't want to be switching around between different controllers mid-action.

>>> Changelog: <<<

Even more new textures for Kokiri Forest!

Kokiri Forest has received yet another overhaul, this time focusing on some important "core textures" in the area, such as the ground (which was in previous versions barely in HD), sides of walls, the tunnels connecting other areas to Kokiri Forest, the transitional area between Kokiri Forest and Hyrule Field and more. It all comes together to make quite the nice improvement, let me know what you think!

And the primary focus of this update: Lon Lon Ranch!

Lon Lon Ranch has for long been neglected in these updates, which is unfortunate considering it's one of the central and beautiful areas of the game. That all changes with this update, which brings almost all of the important textures from the area up to (relatively) modern standards with completely remade textures in up to 4K! Combined with the new textures for Horses and Epona, this place now truly shines and looks as good as it deserves (to the best of my ability, of course. But you get what I mean!)

And some upgrades to Zora's Domain!

Zora's Domain has been updated with new cliff and stair textures, as well as parts of Zora's Fountain. A complete overhaul of Zora River is also being worked on, but it's not quite ready yet!

New Pause Menu Textures

Some parts of the menus that weren't already retextured have been so this update, such as the "ITEMS", "GEAR" and "MAP" buttons in the pause menu, or the "SELECT FILE" button in the start menu.

New interior details

Minor interior details have been improved as well, such as the carpet and wooden floor inside of Lon Lon Ranch itself. Not much on it's own, but it all adds up!

New shaders - version 7.0!

The custom shader preset has been updated to version 7.0! In this version the preset has been completely remade from scratch, and has been carefully calibrated and tweaked to look better in pretty much every way than the old version (the old version is still available if you want to compare, or use it, of course!)

And more miscellaneous changes.

Lots of less noticable things have been altered or fixed in this version, such as garden weeds displaying the wrong color in some places looking quite out-of-place, and ugly seams between terrain textures in other places. All-in-all, polishing is what you could call it!

Phew, I believe that was all this time around. I might come back and add something I might have forgotten later!

And like before; Glorious 60 FPS! (Still in beta though, so read carefully!)

Re-post from previous updates:

The 60 FPS patch is a first-time feature for Ocarina of Time 3D, and makes the game display in a buttery smooth 60 frames per second instead of the usual 30. This makes the game not just nicer to look at, but also makes it more responsive and reduces input lag. However, this feature is still in beta and has a several bugs with workarounds (you need to perform some special actions in certain instances to avoid the game from softlocking, for example. Instructions and more information is provided with the download!) Since the 60 FPS mode isn't quite ready for prime time yet, it's included as an optional special version which you can use if you're feeling adventurous (and don't mind doing a little bit of manual work!) The instructions are, like stated previously, included with the download. Have fun! :]

Selecting your game region (if you're using the PAL/European or Japanese version of the game);

All you need to do now, if you're using the European version of Ocarina of Time 3D, click the "Run this if you're using the PAL (European) version of the game.bat" file inside the texture pack folder. Done! It'll now work great with your version of the game. Easy, right?

How to enable MXAO (ambient occlusion) & DoF (Depth of Field):

This means you can now experience glorious self shadowing around objects, which looks really great with OOT's fantasy art style. Try it out by doing the following:

* Set your game view to "Single" in Citra.

* Enter fullscreen in Citra.

* Press the "8" key on your keyboard, this will bring up the ReShade UI.

* Check the "MXAO" box in the list of effects.

* Go to the "Addons" tab in ReShade and check the box next to the depth buffer in the list with the highest value (it should be a very high number while all others are 0). This number will change constantly, but don't worry it's supposed to do that!

* You're done. Have fun!

That's mostly it for this update. Enjoy!

This update is a bit smaller than usual, since I've been finishing up school and have had less time to work on texture packs this month. However- I promise to make up for it with future releases. Some truly awesome stuff is coming soon, so stay tuned!

The update is available to all you Patrons here, with a public release in 1 month weeks from when this post was published!

There is also a 4K version available, if your computer can handle it! The 4K version includes higher quality textures than the 1080p version, and will work on all displays- even those that don't display in 4K resolution. It will still look better than the 1080p version, no matter the display!

Please feel free to try it out!

(Only available for the Citra 3DS emulator, the texture pack does not work on real 3DS consoles).

You can find more information about my HD texture pack here.

This is an old version of the texture pack! Please download a newer version instead to get all the latest textures and improvements.

Download the 4K UI Overlay Utility here (beta)

I am only able to make things like this thanks to your support, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me do what I love! ❤️

Hello, I have just subscribed to your subscription but I do not have a link to be able to download one of the versions. Can you help me please ?

henrikomagnifico

Hi! You find the download links to all the texture pack at the bottom of each corresponding post for the pack and version you want to download. Cheers, Henriko

JuanGomez

I love your job! thank you for your effort. I know it's not easy. The text is pixelated in zelda ocarina, increasing the quality of the text would improve the experience more, I hope one day to see improvements in the text, otherwise I'm fine, one or the other icon, but I think the text is very important I also wanted to ask something, and I wanted to know if a Mod like the Mask Improvements is possible, which allows you to use the ocarina with the buttons, and use I and II with the controller, also see the magic bar, hearts, rupees, and items on the main screen, just like in the Project Restoration mod. I would pay just for that.

henrikomagnifico

Hi Juan, and thank you! The text in OOT3D is unfortunately handled in a very complicated way, making it impossible to re-texture currently. However there is working being made on this as we speak, so hopefully it won't be too long until HD text will be possible in the game. Regarding any mods similar to that of Project Restoration for Majora's Mask but for OOT3D, unfortunately I am not aware of any such mods being available or in the making currently. Although there could be someone working on it and I simply don't know about it! In the meanwhile, there is the "UI Patch" which you can download and apply which achieves some of these features, and you can also map the touch screen to buttons on your controller using the "Motion / Touch..." menu in the City Input Settings, letting you use the I & II buttons and all other parts of the bottom screen. I hope this helps! Cheers, Henriko

This newest update causes all the fairy's in the game to have little plus signs inside of them, almost like a leftover developer texture. I have posted a screenshot of the issue in the forums. The 1080p version and the 4K version have the same issue for me. I've uninstalled every version of Citra off my machine and installed only YOUR version, and it's still an issue.

henrikomagnifico

Ah! Thanks for reporting this issue. I have uploaded a small patch, 1.7.1a to fix this issue. Cheers, Henriko

Andreas

Hi Henriko, thank you very much for this update. Is it possible to hide the reshade infobox? Unfortunately I haven't found anything in the Citra settings. I have set the screen layout to "separate screen" because I have two monitors. Thank's in advance for your feedback.

henrikomagnifico

Hi Andreas! Unfortuantely the "separate windows" feature in Citra can not be used if reshade is enabled currently, so one or the other has to be sacrificed for the other to work. The only fix for now seems to be remove reshade entirely (opengl32.dll file) or not using the separate windows feature and using some other layout, such as the "Large" layout.

MM3D and Twilight princess textures are working fine for me but I cannot get OOT to boot and dump custom textures without immediately crashing. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. :/

Hi Henriko, I'm trying to play but my pc is not good enough to run at 60fps, how do I disable 60fps and run at 30fps? ;-;

henrikomagnifico

Hi josivanio! The game will run at 30 fps by default, and only use 60 fps if you use the special "60 fps edition (beta)" version of citra included inside of the folders in the texture pack. If it is not labeled that, the game will default to 30 fps.

Hey Henriko, im trying to run the game but my computer isnt that good, i only have 8gb ram and a ryzen 5 3500u, is there a way to speed it up to 30fps?

Anonymous

Wow, yeah. You can really see and feel the difference in Lon Lon Ranch. Good job man.

I am running on M2 Mac and the 4k Textures work great! I cant seem to get the 60FPS running though. Is there a Mac Citra version included?

henrikomagnifico

Hi Taylor! Unfortunately there is no MacOS compiled version of Citra with 60 FPS support currently. I'll look into the possibility of making one, though!

hi it seems that the above link doesn't work it says error on google drive

henrikomagnifico

Hi Ricardo! That's because this is an old version of the texture pack and is no longer supported, I recommend that you instead download the latest version which has all the latest textures and improvements here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/zelda-ocarina-of-79394341

Does this work with this mod? https://github.com/GarciaLnk/OoT3DCameraControl

henrikomagnifico

Hi Raushawd! Yes my texture pack will work with the camera control mod, and it's highly recommended to be used with it. You will need to rename the included citra to "citra-qt.exe" for the mod to work however, other than that you should be able to follow the default instructions included with the mod and it should work without issues.
