I've been thinking a lot about Durna's potential arsenal, and decided to grab some paper and lay it out.

While in Thief the weapons are always the same, here I'd like to give the player the ability to pick from a few, each with their own advantages and disadvantages.

As far as the ranged attacks go, I also wanted to limit the types of projectiles to a core few, and instead create complexity by allowing them to be combined with various poisons.

Imagine if instead of using a traditional Gas Arrow, the player could activate anesthetic poison and fire a Dust Bolt, or perhaps even a Fire Bolt by carefully aiming the center of explosion away from the target(s). Or instead of having to pick between Water and Moss arrows before embarking on a mission, the player can simply stock up on Dust Bolts which can fill the functionality of both depending on what target they are used on.

On top of this, there is also the Arx Fatalis inspiration side of mechanics. Why expend Dust Bolts to douse a torch when you can do it by simply using a water bottle from your inventory? Sure, there's a risk-reward balance here, but that ultimately makes resource management more interesting.

Anyway, I'm not going to go into more detail for now, especially in regards to the various poisons and potions I designed, but I do believe I have a good system to work with - which is ultimately one that takes the best from Thief and tailors it to Haggard's imsim particularities.
