The key frames of the first shot of MEE is here.

It's a one of difficult to draw that character run toward far away. His works are very carefully because he drew many reference pic between key frames.

  • The number which in circle is 原画/key frame
  • The number which in triangle is 参考/reference

Generally we don't feel need to draw details like that shadow/hi-light color lines in reference. Depend on the situation but we can entrust this to 動画マン

In this scene, shadow color is going to change from shadow in shadow color to normal color. The last of this shot, he uses O・L these two kind of color

  • OL / Over Lap ... Overlap two consecutive shots (screen)
  • 中OL / NakaOL ... Using Overlap in the shot   EX. BG OL, A-cel OL
  • ノーマル色 ... normal color
  • 1号影 ... normal shadow (First shadow color)
  • 2号影 ... Second shadow color
  • カゲ中色 ... shadow in shadow
  • 着地 ... Get your feet on the ground *Important key position and instruction
  • 逆光 … The light position is from in front of object

When you use complicated shot like this, you must write accurate instructions on key frames.

Also "Run animation" is one of the basic technique in anime. I'm going to show how to animate "Run" and "Walk" on my tutorials in the future. Actually there is some point. Please look consecutive movement of the top of head carefully. This is one point!

This is very helpful. I think it would be nice to have us try to animate something and share! (homework)
