I wasn't expecting this movie to be SO good and SO terrifying at time! It's amazing what can be done with simple, slow camera movements down dark hallways. I hate attics. I have always hated attics but this movie cemented my fear of attics. Not the holy jolly Christmas movie that the family can gather around the fire and watch but an exceptional example of tension building within the context of Christmas... what's not to love!! Really great camera work from the exceptional POV shots that create so much tension to the beautiful and mysterious silhouette shots of the killer. The characters are really fun and the direction the movie takes us with the killer is both scary, and very entertaining. Oh also, THE ENDING!! I can't believe I had never known about this ending before. Due to not wanting to spoil the ending for you if you have not seen it I will not say anything but my brain was blown that's for sure. I still am trying to process.

I advise against watching the remake lol. Despite it being made by the same guys as Final Destination, it was just too slick and showy for its own good. And I never watched the most recent one either but I don’t think it has any connection and it also got torched by critics and audiences lol

Chicken nuggets! The OG slasher (yes, Psycho of course, but *this* is the formula that followed.) Trivia: then-unkown John Carpenter asked Bob Clark (director of this) if he'd ever make a sequel to Black Christmas. Clark said probably not, but that if he did it'd be "Billy" breaking out of a mental asylum and donning a stolen mask and be titled: Black Halloween. No shade on Carpenter...all art is derivative. Even Picasso said "geniuses steal."
