This movie was insanely terrifying, even more than some horror movies! So articulate and cold in its design just like its malicious characters, or should I say character. I don't want to spoil this movie if you haven't seen it because it SHOCKED me on this first viewing. Even when I thought I had guessed what had happened, it still left my mouth wide open. David Fincher subtly directs this movie and his camera work is a far cry from Panic Rooms insane camera movements. There is little to no movement in anything camera related and everything feels cold and calculated. The lighting is natural and grey while the score is a humming, pulsating sound that makes the hair on your neck stand. I have a lot more to say about this movie but again, if you haven't seen it I won't spoil it here. Go watch it, or wait to watch it with me that'd be cool too, and enjoy a thrilling, terrifying movie.

I can't believe I used to think this was a chick flick when I was a kid...

I love this movie even more than Panic Room. Rosamund Pike is absolutely amazing as Ben Affleck’s wife. Her role isn’t easy to play and she nailed it. Ben Affleck had a less challenging role, but was very good in it. I will watch Gone Girl again this weekend, as I haven’t seen it since its release in 2014. It’s one of my favorite David Fincher movies. As you said, the stillness and coldness are truly chilling. I hope I can watch it with you.

A star was born in that shower scene. Ben Affleck was one pump of blood away from lift off.
