What a poignant way to end this show. Made me so emotional when they revealed who survived and what each soldier was doing after the war. These people, who don't even consider themselves heroes, lived through something that people like me can't even begin to imagine and are able to live happily and well. Brought a hopeful tear to my eye.

The rest of the episode is fantastic as well with some really interesting commentary of how dangerous a soldier can be once peace is declared with alcohol and weapons mix. A bored soldier is a dangerous soldier. The points system as well is brutally horrible and the fact that soldiers who had been fighting from the beginning can't go home because they didn't have 85 points was ridiculous. It's almost like the army wants you to get injured if this is the system.

Also, Austria was beautiful and now I want to go there.

I second what Jonathan said. If you really liked Band of Brothers, definitely consider watching The Pacific. It follows a group of U.S. Marines in combat against the Japanese in the Pacific during the Second World War.

The way I cried like a baby during those final talking head segments. I don’t throw the word around a lot, but this miniseries is a masterpiece.
