I also prefer subtitles and am glad you do as well. The thing is, the animation was made with the original voices in mind. Dubs, even if they're good, will never properly replace the original. And I prefer to watch it the way it was intended by the director because I believe will get the authentic experience that way. Some say subtitles are distracting, but I can read them at a glance so they have never been a problem for me. I've also picked up a lot of Japanese this way, so I'm less reliant of subtitles anyway.
