So glad you watched this one! As usual with your reactions, you notice things that I'd never seen, and I've watched this repeatedly over the past fifty years. A couple of interesting facts: the woman who played Number One later comes back to the series playing a different character, Nurse Chapel. She also eventually ended up marrying Gene Roddenberry, and playing the voice of the computer on "The Next Generation," as well as portraying Deanna Troi's mother in a few episodes. If you eventually get to reacting to other Star Trek series, the latest one, "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" is a prequel which follows Captain Pike and a young Spock in their adventures following their experience on Talos IV. I really like the series, and I think you'd enjoy it now that you know some of the history with Captain Pike. As always, thanks for your great reactions, and I'm looking forward to the next Star Trek episodes!

Regarding the music each season they would have maybe a half dozen episodes with music specifically written for that specific episode and later episodes would reuse musical cues. You'll see in the episode Doomsday machine an excellent soundtrack that was reused repeatedly in other episodes. Cheers
