It's been a while since I read the manga, so I didn't remember why I was lukewarm on the ending (mostly that last part). Overall, it was enjoyable, but the writing of the last 1/3 (Ch. 139 adaptation) was kind of meh, especially after the first 2/3 of it. Still AOT was a fun journey overall, and I'm sad to see it end.

I think that it felt more rushed in the manga but the anime was able to fully expand what Isayama wanted to convey

Yea idk why people hated the ending in the manga, that was pretty great and a nice way to end the series. Maybe the anime was better paced and directed, I heard the manga was more rushed toward the end

im good with the ending have no problems with it. my guess to why so many people are mad is cuz eren didnt get mikasa she went and had babies with someone else. the meme of rent a trash got edited to be eren and mikasa wich now is comfirmed cannon thats my guess but fuck it the creator can do what he wants its his work

Tbh personal headcanon, the last shot of Mikasa, the guy, and the kid was actually Mikasa with Armin, along with Armin and Annie's kid; Mikasa stayed loyal to Eren to the end.
