Honestly I think the anime was a bit disappointing, it wasn't bad but I feel it was bogged down by some contrivances, poorly explained plot points, and a lot of various other elements that got in the way of the core romance and Miyo's story of overcoming trauma.

My favorite romance this season is Sugar Apple Fairy Tale (Also technically an action seinen but Mononogatari:Malevolent Spirits also ties with it as well.) Both stuff you skipped.
