As of the start of this series, Kenshin is 28 years old... and considering 10 years had passed since he stopped being a killer for the Imperialists, he was still in his teens when he first started doing all that dirty work. Also a fun fact (or not really "fun" depending on who you ask)... since they've already hinted at and touched upon some romance elements between Kenshin and Kaoru, Kouru, at this point in the story, is 17 years old. If this reboot is going by the source material more closely, we'll eventually get to the point of some backstory on Kenshin's past... and the main reason why he vowed to never kill again and became a wanderer.

Fun fact, the character design for this guy was literally inspired by Gambit, because the author was a fan of the character.

You should definitely check out the live action trilogy sometime, they're great adaptations of the manga and even cover some stuff the og anime didn't do. Even if the remake adapts all that, I still think the live actions are worth the watch.
