The duel between the 2 didn't quite hit home in anime due to the Cringeass studio danny deletoing all the internal monologue POVs etc, which would explain why she teared up like that... also yeah you are pretty right it's a cultural difference per se (as well as her literally being a child soldier obviously, as you can see w/ her scars at the old age of 15) As you can see, Chela & Oliver are basically Team Mom & Dad. Honestly I have to wonder if she can actually use her horni gas on non-Humans as well, since she seems to specialize in breeding experiments, I assume her inherent trait would be partially the reason as to why she chose that type of field at least, as they usually tend to for obvious logical reasons

He doesn't look out of place for a fifth year considering that's what, 19? 20? Some people also grow a full beard earlier, I've had mine since middle school. There seem to be people from all over the world at this school so it's also likely to see people with genes like that.

Vikings also had the "die in glorious battle" attitude. It isn't strictly an East versus west thing, it's a Warrior culture thing. They start school after age 15 (which can mean almost 16), so a 5th year could be almost 20 years old (at or near the end of bodily growth). McFarlane and Oliver Horn both have family who went/go to the school, so they have prior knowledge. There is definitely something hidden about Oliver. McFarlane surprised me the most - subverting the obvious anime tropes left and right. So the team looks like: Oliver and McFarlane as experienced leaders. Red haired guy is kind of clueless but has some knowledge. Kate is a peaceful person, but there is probably something hidden there. The bookworm (sort of - it looks like he is reading to catch up to the people from magic families). Nanao - a Samurai child - probably an orphan whose lord died. That makes 6, and the title says Seven, so someone is missing...

Bruh, rising at 6am is super easy. I do it every day. Here’s the secret: own a cat, and feed them breakfast around 7am-7:30am. No doubt. They will wake you an hour early. Every. Single. Goddamn. Time. There’s no such thing as sleeping in when you’re on cat time. 🥲 (To clarify, I had to leave for a college class around 7:30ish to arrive on time, and adjusted their breakfast time accordingly. About 3-4 years later… they won’t accept breakfast later than 7am now.)
