So to explain the family just a bit Miyo is Saimori (father) And Usuba (mother) And Kaya (sister) is from the Saimori (father) and Unknown (mother) The Tatsuishi family is the boy who clearly loves Miyo. His father was angry cause he wanted the Usuba family blood in his family with his son marrying Miyo and there kid would have the chance of getting the Usuba family ability (We dont know what the abilty for Usuba is yet) By the sounds of it with the thief comment Miyo's mother was possibly married to her father before Kaya's mother but by the sounds of it she loved miyo's dad and was salty she lost her man to another but Miyo's mother died and freed up the dude so she went in. Hence the anger a Miyo cause she's proof Miyo's mother won first?

The boy that likes Miyo (Koji) has an older brother (he mentioned in Ep1 when sharing the candy). Probably the father wants to obtain the "Usuba" power by getting Miyo married to the family's heir (Koji's brother) and send Koji to Saimori family in exchange.

As a commander of the supernatural squad, it's kinda make sense he didn't accept the breakfast at first.
