Just to clarify: Zoan type: transform into a different species. Logia type is when the user's body transforms into elements of nature such as fire, ice, electricity, sand etc. Logia type for the most part are also immune to all physical attacks, including cutting, shooting, punching. Paramythia can be thought of becoming an element also but they aren't immune to physical attacks. For example, if you shoot a gun or slash a sword at Ace, it would just pass through him but if you slash Luffy or punch Buggy, they would take damage. Ace is logia. Luffy and Buggy is a Paramythia. More details will be given later in the story but in the current time, this is the general assumption.

Another way to look at it is whatever is not a zoan or logia, is therefore a paramythia. If you don't have the ability to transform to another species or if you're not immune to ALL physical type attacks (both slashing and punching), you are therefore a paramythia. Although Luffy is immune to blunt attacks, he is still hurt from slashes therefore he can be considered a paramythia.
