I refuse to believe what they implied with that cliffhanger.

Idk if I can ever love the MC of this show. Everyone else around him is so bad ass. By the way new isekai called I gained a cheat skill in another world and became unparalleled in the real world first episode came lit yesterday. It has absolutely gorgeous gorgeous art and animation and a super dope first ep. Not sure how your schedule is for this cour but it’s right up your alley

Mikey said it best a few episodes ago, being able to fight isn't the message here, it's being able to not lose yourself or give in to others. Trust me, that will be hammered in as the show goes on.

So quick explanation: Everyone's hair bring different in Episode 12's flashbacks was to show that over the years their style changed, since time was passing. I'm assuming Takemichi's probably did too and it eventually culminated in him going back to his natural style, black and messy, like usual. As for why past Takemichi is so different from our Takemichi, it comes down to experiences, age and even wisdom. Our Takemichi went through hell for at least a year under Kiyomasa in the first timeline, ran away before even attending high school and was subsequently humbled by the harsh reality of going through life as a low income worker constantly having to apologize and make himself small. Then he had/has to go through the horrors of watching those he loves and care about die/get hurt and the stress of trying to stop it/fail to stop it. Plus, he almost died/dies himself A LOT and that alone can change a person. Then there's past Takemichi. He never has to go through any of those character moments. He technically barely had any time under Kiyomasa so didn't experience too much cruelty, he all of a sudden (at least it must be all of a sudden to him as it is our Takemichi who did the befriending) is just friends with the top brass of Toman and didn't have to earn it or work for it and he doesn't go through the perils of time travel so therefore doesn't suffer from its hardships. He literally only gets the fruits of our Takemichi's labors and simply coasts off of that. So basically, past Takemichi simply hasn't gone through anything harsh enough or character building enough to gain what our Takemichi has, character and a strong will power. Yes, he's courageous and has a good heart, as we saw him defend Hina as a small kid, but that can only take him so far in a story like this. Past Takemichi is like most other middle school kids, easily misled and immature. He bends easily. We see that with him caving to becoming Kisaki's slave in the last timeline and him leaving the gang when it got too violent, rather than trying to talk his friends out of it in this timeline. It's not his fault, he's just a kid, but he's surrounded by other kids who have gone through suffering, abuse, parental neglect, poverty and death/violvence, so he just can't really relate to/connect with that. Our Takemichi can and does, because of his experiences and the fact that he's an adult who can and will fight for his friends past and present. That's why our Takemichi and past Takemichi are so different.
