finals and a few performances

Bocchi The Rock definitely picked up on what was lacking in K-On, which was the performance and songs department. Having both series side by side, I'd say watch K-On if you like the more cutesy slice-of-life aspects with some music elements whereas Bocchi focuses more on the music, band, and performance aspect. I believe it was already documented that the author of Bocchi didn't want to follow K-On's formula too closely so she put more focus on just the band and music stuff, as well as Bocchi dealing with her social anxiety. And Studio CloverWorks did a good job of learning from KyoAni and K-On, understanding that in order to pull off a show that centered around a band and music performances, they had to ensure the entire series had a good amount of song variety. Love both shows though, for sure!
