So much I wish I could talk about in this episode but I don't think I can without dropping all the spoilers. So good though.

Do you remember the purple hair in episode 1 when you said you thought he's good? Also the anime skipped so much details, in the novel they already vaguely tell you who sylvester is at this point.

The running out of mana thing was weird to me in the LN as well. I think that it's more a mana exhaustion from doing almost the entire spring prayer for half the country, the barrier's strength was seen as something absurd and extraordinary and then she gave karstedt enough of a power-boost that he accidentally nuked a large part of the forest.

About mana exhaustion... to me it looked pretty normal per LN, especially with the latest charter in volume 19, which gives yet more perspective on Schutzaria wind shield. That thing just costs a bit too much. To expand on details of LN content for this episode, the shield Myne casts creates such a sturdy thing that her retainers, that is Fran, Rosina, etc, didn't even realize what was happening outside, including the huge blast wave Karstedt's slash/attack created. It also was not only containing God of Darkness's shield (which consumes mana), but also nullified the blast wave, with nullification, I think, per LN beeing the biggest expenditure of Myne's mana, if memory doesn't fail me. Either way, poor girl been blasting from town to town offering mana nonstop, so it certainly was the case, but I think her casting/maintaining that huge shield what drained her the fastest.

Joe, good pick up on why carriages were attacked and perhaps by who. Ferdinant specifically selects locations which he aproaches to via carriges (theory). So pretty much as they mentioned Viscont Gerlach is on good terms with the Head Priest (white beard dude Myne almost crushed). So Ferdinand being very cautious around Gerlach since someone is definitely trying to find/find more info about Myne with Wolf of the Ink Guild dead , etc and Head Priest still messing around with them ( he told them to fill extra chalices Ferdinand's gut feeling teels him that were not ordered to be filled by their Lord). By the end of the episode, however, we definitely now know someone is trying to kill/kidnap her for sure. The bad thing is that Karstedt goes bananas and just blasts all those farmers and a possible noble in the forest Damuel sensed with his attack. Yet again, he did not mean to, perhaps, but Angriff blessing was a bit too OP xD RIP.

hope the story really goes tha tlong but with 16 she surely rules half of the country with all her money, knowldge and mana xD

They do look at her as Ferdinan'd toy or even pet. But thats cause nobody except Ferdinand knows the extend of her knowledge and mana and how she can destroy the entire kingdom if she wants it BTW look at her... shes so tiny she can fit in that cup :D

I can say I like Slyvester so far. He's far better than any noble we've come across besides that lesser noble knight. Hell, he acts more like a commoner than a noble lmao. I feel the entire day of pouring mana to those chalices + using those two spells drained Myne which I can say seems reasonable as she's drained. Also, she's using spells she has never used before so she may be inefficient when casting thus expending more mana than intended.

Yeah you prolly need energy equivalent to what the shield is being assblasted, so that the shield can negate the thermal or w/e energy hit w/ it by using an exact equal amount (or more?) of energy to halt it as per laws of physics

she ran out of mana because she had to mantain the shield because remember the carriage was begin attack by spell of the god of darkness which is a spell that devours mana and beside that she also prayed to the god of war to boost sylvester and karsted power which was why they erased part of the forest they werent expecting myne to give them that boost up which is why ferdinand told her to shut up and not tell them unless asked and she will get more competent with her spells the story is just barely starting they did skip some parts mostly when in the dinner myne already refers to karsted as father and asked him to protected her which karsted liked very much because he only has boys and always wanted a daugher and promises her that she would beat the carp of anyone who dares make her cry!

that would be a interesting slow switch slice of life to defeat the demon lord
