Well, this could be a little hard to understand for anime only as they didn't state that very clearly. For the entire season 2, Shin has the problem that he takes everyone's name with him, but no one can remember him at the end. That's why he asked Lena to remember them. This also explained his self-destructing battle style as he thought Lena is dead. I think the production team made this scene to show that Shin doesn't want to bear it alone anymore
