Hi everyone,

it was quiet here for 2 weeks now, but finally I can present the result of that: CD Direct Audio is now working for many games.

Together with CD XA, this now completes both ways of CD Audio and also Audio overall. Even more than that, all mahor, original features of the PSX core are now implemented.

There are still bugs left and the video timing still needs an overhaul, but I want to use that moment to thank all of you supporting this project through this platform, with your time and effort testing the core or just having fun playing games, because that is what matters in the end.

I also want to mention at this point that the whole work on the Linux part of the CD DA functionality has been done by Alexey. That is a very important part that I'm not familiar with and which would have costed me several extra weeks of work.

If you want to try this first version of the Core, please make sure to update both the core and the mister main to the latest unstable version. You can find further instructions in the great FAQ page that Vampier prepared:

If you want to see a little teaser video of the CD Audio, you can visit my twitter page:

When all goes well, I'll report back in some weeks here with accurate PAL/NTSC timing and full analog out support.

Until then, have fun!

How do I get memory cards to work? I haven’t been able to save a game so far, other than that The core seems to work pretty great!

If you are on the latest mister main and core, all you need to do is load a CD. A memory card should be automatically created with the name of the folder you are in. You can save on this card in the game and later save the memory card in OSD to sdcard. When you load up the CD next time again after power up, the memcard should be already mounted. So overall it behaves pretty much like most console cores.

Thank you for all the hard work! Playing the PSX core with these new display filters has been fantastic.
