     One of the nice things about being a pudgie is, you don't have to have well-endowed friends to be a size queen; you just need a friendly human.

     One of the things I liked about doing the pudgies series was that I often did them in pastels, which I love. I don't usually work in pastels because you can't really use fixative on them without altering the colors, so they remain smearable forever. With the chaotic storage situation in my house, pastel paintings would be doomed. But it is by far my favorite medium: it's the most spontaneous, easiest to blend, the colors are the brightest (it's basically pure pigment); just a great medium to work in.
