I lost most of last week to non-art-related business-- housework, yardwork (pants tucked into socks, and covered in tick-killing bug spray), and dealing with Social Security nonsense (the security at their office is insane; perhaps this is the downside of public shooters...?), so I only had time to do this Charli pinup sketch for Cheesecake of Horror. I really like it, though. I had done a bunch of Charli pinup roughs a few years ago, but couldn't find them until just recently. I'll be doing more, but this was always my favorite pose. It's obviously a reference to The Exorcist, or possession-related levitation in general, but Charli can fly (if you recall the final page of Macabre), so she's probably not possessed. Or maybe she is, I don't really know. I've never been specific about what Charli is, apart from a horror host. She's undead, I know that; she's some sort of ghoul, but she can fly, so...who the hell knows. I actually kind of like some mystery in my horror. No matter what villain or monster you're talking about, the second you define it and establish rules about its nature, strengths and weaknesses, it becomes less scary. But that's just me. When time comes to paint the piece, I might add the peekaboo leotard she sometimes wears. Not sure yet.

I should have the second page of the Boneyard short for you next week. In the meantime, enjoy the floating boobies.
